Convoy — Terms of Service
Last updated: July 27, 2026
This is a starting draft, not a finished legal document. It should be reviewed by a lawyer before public launch.
1. What Convoy is
Convoy is a directory and matching service that connects users who want to find or offer a ride, primarily around the military installations listed in the app's base directory. Convoy does not provide transportation itself, does not employ or contract drivers, and is not a party to any ride arrangement made between users.
2. What Convoy is not
- Convoy is not a transportation company, taxi service, or commercial rideshare broker.
- Convoy does not process, facilitate, or take a cut of any payment, cost-share, or other compensation exchanged between users. Any such arrangement is made solely between the individuals involved, on whatever terms they agree to.
- Convoy does not verify driving records, vehicle insurance, vehicle safety, or driving ability. Users are solely responsible for deciding whether and with whom to ride.
3. Eligibility
You must be 18 years or older to create an account. By creating an account, you confirm that you are a service member, veteran, family member, or otherwise have a legitimate connection to the installation(s) you select.
4. Account registration
- You may sign up with any valid email address. Convoy does not require a .mil email or any government-issued credential to register.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
- You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. Deleting your account permanently and immediately removes your profile, your posted rides and requests, and any ratings, reports, and blocks tied to your account. Because a chat conversation belongs to both participants, deleting your account also permanently deletes the full message history of any conversation you were part of — including messages the other participant sent. Deleted data is not recoverable.
5. User conduct
You agree not to:
- Use Convoy for any illegal purpose, including offering paid commercial transportation without appropriate authorization.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with an installation.
- Attempt to circumvent the report/block system or retaliate against a user who has reported you.
6. Reporting and enforcement
Users may report or block other users at any time. Convoy reserves the right to suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms, at its discretion. [Describe your actual review process once you have one.]
7. No liability for ride arrangements
Convoy is not responsible for the conduct of any user, the condition or safety of any vehicle, the outcome of any ride, or any dispute, injury, loss, or damage arising from a ride arranged through the app. Users assume all risk associated with arranging and participating in rides found through Convoy.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Convoy is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Convoy and its operator(s) are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app.
9. Changes to these terms
Convoy may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [your state], without regard to conflict-of-law principles. [A lawyer should confirm this is the right jurisdiction for you.]
